Bring STEM to your classroom! Shell’s expert Speakers can spark excitement and bring life to science, mathematics, engineering, and technology.
Shell speakers are available to middle and high schools located within the Houston and New Orleans surrounding areas. When a Shell energy professional visits your middle or high school, your students can learn about STEM careers first-hand from a role model who lives these experiences every day. Their stories can help inspire students to embrace STEM subjects, reach for STEM careers and use STEM to empower their futures, regardless of which career they choose. It is a great way to show students how classroom lessons are relevant to their lives.
To request a Speaker, submit a request 4 weeks before the speaking engagement. Please note that we cannot guarantee that all requests will be filled. We suggest that you review the following information before submitting a request.
Information:
- Presentation topics cover Shell’s energy message and career awareness.
- Presentations are typically 45 minutes which includes 15 minutes for discussion.
Requirements:
- Shell speakers available within the Houston and New Orleans surrounding areas.
- Must be an Educator/faculty to submit requests from a public school.
- Speaking engagements must include an audience of 20 or more.
- Topics discussed in class should relate to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics subjects.
- Our Speakers have a background in Engineering, Geosciences, and Process Technology, Business, and Health & Safety.
- Audience includes middle and high school students, parents, college, and/or teachers.
- A maximum of 2 visits per school year.
